Thank you for using Browser Books ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Google Chrome Extension (the "Extension").

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our highlighting and bookmarking services, we collect the following types of information:

• Personally Identifiable Information (PII): When you sign in to use the Cloud Sync feature, we collect your Email Address strictly for authentication and account management purposes (via OTP login).
• User Content: We collect and store the text you highlight and the comments you create (User Content) so you can access them across your devices.
• Web History / URLs: We collect the URLs of the web pages where you create highlights or comments. This is necessary to anchor your highlights to the correct page and allow you to jump back to them later.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to operate, maintain, and improve the Extension:

• To sync your highlights and comments to your personal cloud account.
• To identify the correct web page so your saved highlights can be re-applied when you revisit the site.
• To authenticate your identity securely.

We do not track your browsing history outside of the specific pages where you actively create a highlight or a comment.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS), meaning your highlights and comments are mathematically isolated and only accessible by your authenticated account.

4. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, user content, or web history to any third parties. Your data is yours.

We may only share information with our trusted service providers (such as Supabase) strictly for the purpose of hosting the infrastructure required for the Extension to function.
